Chen graduated from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology with a master degree in environmental engineering. Chen used to be the director of the Environmental Protection Research Institute of North China Pharmaceutical Group and the director of the Environmental Protection Department of North China Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Having been responsible for the environmental protection work in the pharmaceutical industry for a long time, Chen has rich practical experience in the clean production, the treatment of the three wastes and the utilization of resources in the pharmaceutical process, and the construction of a circular economy model in the pharmaceutical industry. Over the years, with the in-depth integration of the production practices of pharmaceutical companies, major breakthroughs and innovations have been made by him in a number of 863 projects and provincial and ministerial environmental research projects. Chen also presided over the formulation of the Hebei Provincial-Local Standard "Technical Guidelines for the Control of Volatile Organic Compounds and Malodorous Gas Pollution in the Biological and Chemical Pharmaceutical Industry" (DB 13/T 5363-2021) and is the author of "The Treatment and Control of High-Concentration Refractory Organic Wastewater" and "National Environment "Workbook for the Establishment of Friendly Enterprises" and other monographs, with 9 invention patents. The research results have been promoted and applied to effectively eliminate the environmental risks caused by the irregular treatment of waste in the pharmaceutical industry, so as to solve the bottleneck problem restricting the growth of many pharmaceutical companies and promote the development of the pharmaceutical industry. Chen has a tremendous impact on sustainable and healthy development, ensuring environmental safety and people's health, and has achieved significant environmental and social benefits.
